Backstage.
We photograph the minutes before the doors open: the wings, the last look at the notes, the crew at work.
Backstage is where the event is still being made. We work quietly, with the light that is there and the lights we bring, so the speakers and the crew are seen as they are, before the room fills. These are the photographs organizers reach for afterward, when they tell the story of the day.
